Getting started with SkylonHost

Quick-start guide to get you up and running with your first server at SkylonHost in less than 5 minutes.

Creating an account

Get started by creating an account in Cloudie, our control panel. After creating an account, you can log in and access your dashboard.

warning

If you use a VPN or proxy while creating your account, or the entered billing details do not match, your account will get flagged for manual review. Please contact our support team at support@skylonhost.com.

Topping up your account

After creating your account, you will need to head to the Billing tab in Cloudie and add some funds. We support numerous payment methods, including credit/debit cards, PayPal, cryptocurrencies and SEPA.

info

Shopping as a company? Make sure your Company name and VAT number are filled out in your account section! You can get your VAT number changed by making a ticket with our support team.

Deploying a server

Head to the Instances -> Deploy section in Cloudie, pick your desired server location, package and operating system. The server can either be deployed with a randomly generated root password, or you can add and select a public SSH key in this step. You can also choose an arbitrary label for your server, which will be used to identify it in your dashboard.

Connecting to your server

Once your server is deployed (which usually takes under a minute), you can connect to it using SSH. All our images use the root user.
